ACE Life Insurance Co., Ltd (“ACE Life”) announced today that it will be giving out 227 “Cung ban vuot song” scholarships worth VND681 million (VND 3 million/ scholarship) to bright but needy freshmen from accredited universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh city, Ha Noi, Da Nang and Can Tho. These scholarships are sponsored by ACE Life’s Account Representatives (AR).
This is the third consecutive year that ACE Life ARs have supported and acted for the “Cung ban vuot song” project. Since its inception in 2005 where 40 scholarships worth VND160 million were given out, “Cung ban vuot song” has received a lot of positive feedback and appreciation from the Vietnamese people and impoverished students. This has provided the extra motivation and encouragement for ACE Life ARs to raise the value of the scholarship fund in subsequent years. In 2006, the scholarship fund was increased to VND 400 million to provide for 200 scholarships and this year, to VND681 million. These scholarships have enabled a relatively large number of worthy but less privileged students to obtain a university education. This effort contributes to developing the country’s future talent and adds value to the overall education quality.
ACE Life has always been an avid advocate of CSR, participating in activities and endeavors which benefit the local community. The organization has chosen meaningful projects such as donating to the ‘Nguyen Thai Binh’ scholarships, extending a helping hand to orphans, providing relief aid to the victims of calamities among others.
More details on the “Cung ban vuot song” scholarships will be announced after the 2007 examinatioun results are out.
