The ACE Foundation, located in Bermuda, stays in touch with the needs of its local community. With specific goals for charitable support, The Foundation has had a positive impact in a number of different areas, including education, health, youth, the elderly, the environment and more.
Our Mission
- To strengthen the community by utilizing our financial resources to actively address social, educational and other issues of community concern
- To strive to be consistent in our community support by contributing to those charitable organizations that are specifically focused on clearly defined needs and problems — such as the war on drugs, housing and care for the elderly, opportunities for youth, improving the environment, hospice care, the arts, culture and humanities, and others
- To match our employees’ charitable gifts to the community and to support organizations where our employees volunteer
Major Initiatives
Employee Matching Gifts Program
- The ACE Foundation in Bermuda encourages employee involvement in the community by matching 100 percent of employees’ charitable contributions to recognized charities around the world. The ACE Foundation will match up to $5,000 per employee per calendar year.
A Gift for Time Program
- Through this program, ACE employees in Bermuda are rewarded for their volunteer time outside of office hours. When an ACE employee volunteers a minimum of 25 hours of personal time to a registered charity during the calendar year, The ACE Foundation will make a monetary donation of $500 to that organization in the employee’s name.
The Robert Clements/ACE Scholars Program
- Established in 1996, the Robert Clements/ACE Scholars Program enables ACE to provide financial assistance to students each year. The program offers qualified students a unique opportunity to further their education at accredited universities offering degrees in insurance, risk management or actuarial science. The Madeline Joell Nest Egg Fund
- The Madeline Joell Nest Egg Fund was established in the memory of Madeline Joell (Vice President, Marketing, ACE Bermuda) following her untimely death in 1999. Funding provided by The ACE Foundation is available to all of Bermuda’s public primary schools to assist in Bermuda’s drive toward academic excellence. Each school is eligible for $10,000 per year for programs promoting academic excellence in the core disciplines of language arts, mathematics, science and social studies, with a maximum of $50,000 and a limit of five consecutive years per program.
